Each file uploaded should be at least 1500 pixels wide, and a maximum file size of 10mb. JPGs are the recommended file format, but PNGs and PDFs are also acceptable.

While your image should be at least 1500 pixels wide, it can be landscape or portrait and any proportions will be accepted. However, if you are creating a new drawing from scratch, we suggest making it with SQUARE proportions to suit publication on multiple different platforms, including Instagram (in the event that your image wins!).

Your drawing(s) can take the form of a plan, section, elevation, perspective, sketch or abstract. As long as it portrays part or all of a building or group of buildings, it is eligible. It can be located anywhere in the world and be at any scale. You are welcome to submit a collage as long as the entire image remains square.

Yes! In fact, for every additional drawing you submit for this year’s competition, you’ll receive an automatic $10 off the entry fee! This applies to all submissions after the first for each entrant, and for all submission periods.

Yes. Your drawing can illustrate a new architectural proposal or existing piece of architecture. It should capture the experience of those that would inhabit it in some way.

Software can be used, but the image should be identifiable as a drawing. Hand-drawn or CAD-generated sketches, perspectives, plans, sections and elevations are all eligible. Renderings or any image too closely resembling a photographic representation are not eligible. The Architizer team will use its discretion to judge eligibility and reserves the right to disqualify entries.

Submissions will be judged online according to three key criteria: Communication, aesthetics and impact. Definitions of those 3 terms can be found on the judging criteria page.

Yes! Teams of up to four can submit an entry. One person in the team must be designated the “team leader”. In the event a team wins, prize money will be given to the team leader and they will be responsible for distributing the prize among their team members.

You may withdraw your entry by emailing competitions@architizer.com. Refunds WILL be issued for entries that are withdrawn within 48 hours of being submitted. Refunds WILL NOT be issued for entries withdrawn after 48 hours of being submitted.
