HABITAT_WEST LOS ANGELES_ LIVING WITH EXTREAMS
The main idea is to create a Habitat in West Los Angeles along the coast from Venice Beach to Santa Monica. The concept is intended to protect against the catastrophes that are to become increasingly strong over the next few years, such as flood, heat, storm and earthquake. Urban elements should be protected against the extreme conditions. New solutions are to be developed from the coming extremes, so that the coming flood water will be used to cool down against the heat and a canal will be created as used in Venice as a waterway. High buildings are to divert the extreme winds and lead as breeze over the canal to create a natural ventilation of the quarter. This urban structure is to take precedence as an example to show that a forward-looking planning can create new solutions against the coming climate change.
