How does our spatial experience influence our perception of time?
How can we describe, through architecture, moments when we are unaware of time passing and get lost in the infinite field of time?
Time, like space, is not linear. Einstein’s discoveries proved we have unique temporal experiences, that moving through space affects our notion of time.
From the city grid,
From a quantifiable column field,
From a repetitive experience,
From the known,
...to the unknown,
to a dark entrance hidden by the colonnade,
to a sharp threshold into a large space,
to descending steps in a perfect circle,
to a beam of light indicating direction,
to an exit at some end,
to a new understanding
to a new experience in and of time.
An experience of rhythm, repetition
mimicking the quantitative notion of time known
to an experience of vastness, infinite
offering a qualitative sense of time never known before
