Post-Historic Landmarks Commission
The Post-Historic Landmarks Commission Headquarters is the third of three small structures just north of Monticello and route 17 and west of the Walmart Supercenter. The PHLCHQ acts as both administrative commission, hearing public dissertation on the merits of all projects to be built, as well as cultural institution holding artistic and design artifacts of importance to Subsullivan county. Knowing that some level of bureaucracy would inevitably develop within the organization, the PHLC attempted to frontload such experiences into the architecture of the headquarters. Red-tape would then be contained to the presentation process and not the decisions. Builders must cross a series of thresholds, checkpoints, waiting areas and ramps before reaching the platform where they present their project to a blank wall. The presentation is recorded and streamed to the Lord High Executioner in the basement of the headquarters where fact-checking and thoughtful consideration of the design takes place.
