Libertas de Paris
A gift from France in celebration of the values of freedom and liberty their nations treasure, Lady Liberty recently returned to her homeland. She can be found basking on the new temporary beach chair roof of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. For a hard working statue who stood day and night for years welcoming immigrants to America, while reminding old-timers how their ancestors started out, it will be a working vacation. Serving as a symbol is the price she pays for being a giant copper goddess of liberty no matter where she travels. Fortunately, her patina is a decent sunscreen and her smart phone weighs less than her torch and weighty tabula ansata. When Americans, and humans in general, pull together and focus on our vast similarities rather than our differences, she will return and Notre Dame can build their new-old/old-new roof in peace.
