Basman Street, Amman, Jordan
This drawing is an ultra-quick depiction of the the notion of memory in architecture. It is an enigmatic notion that ponders reality and the not so real in a single frame that is presented as a flattened slice of space.
This is the busy and intense street in downtown Amman, as I remember it when I was six or seven years old holding my father's hand. At that time, I was shorter, much shorter, so everything was taller and bigger. The intense urbanity associated with this street made me less cognitive about the extent of the linear space and its activities and attributes. At that time, it was filled with so many people and the street just went on forever. This is how I experienced the street when I was seven years old. Not too sure now!
