Biophilia
'Biophilia' evokes a densely integrated rural & urban landscape, through section and aerial perspective hand drafted vignettes.
"how does a true 'humanistic' and biophilic architecture function? what does it therefore feel and look like? if highly evolved organisms on our planet have developed their own building and living processes, which help sustain them, how might ours look throughout our various climates and cultures?
I imagine a highly integrated urban fabric, which highlights an efficient organic approach to energy harvesting & management.
Whether it be farming, energy production and distribution, the city functions as a living organism which supports and sustains its inhabitants.
The perspective highlights organic growth and solar energy harvesting, while the section shows the vertical nature of energy systems management.
The drawing was achieved using mechanical graphite pencil, hard edges and watercolor.
