Malaysia Shophouses
The Malaysian shophouses have been housing generations of businesses and families for decades, many of which migrated south from mainland China. Flavours of the British colonization and influence of Chinese architecture ornaments can be seen in these shophouses. The different facades seem to reflect the humans they shelter, some louder than the others. A five-foot-way connects the shophouses on the ground floor, where businesses open up to the public, and the elderly sit on rattan chairs, watching their grandchildren play.
