The Choisy
This is The Choisy. Named after Auguste Choisy, the drawing sits somewhere between a true section and an isometric cut-away, slowly describing surface and space. More specifically, it describes the inner thickness of a new pier on the edge of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. Within it resides an ink production facility that selectively conceals and slips its assembly line to visitors. The drawing’s posture on the page invites the reader to experience the space as if they were standing below the pier, looking up from the water, witnessing the drawing oscillate between outline and contour
