Art of consumerism: Kaleidoscope - Theatre of everyday (New Zealand architecture)
Recognising the modern culture of hyper-consumption and mass production; we are blinded by an illusion of therapeutic sensation and healing through consumption.
My project does not recognize hyper-consumption as a problem, but a form of art, lifestyle and pleasure. So instead of reducing we introduce a space of hyper-consumption through sign-value of an object.
Donated and exchanged goods are extracted from its everyday environment, bringing the value of the products in its display. There's is no cash transaction or pressure to consume, simply viewing the space like a museum or a theatre is an option for the locals. Space is for entertainment, social interaction and satisfaction in the idea of consumption. The hovering circulation capsules are a lookout and are connected to public transport reducing the use of private vehicles.
Space is to co-exist with the current modern commercial spaces. One feeds another, it can not exist alone.
