"Tesseract: Time Based Home Ownership Incentivisation Model" by Bryant Lau Liang Cheng
In a country as small and as dense as Singapore, high rise buildings are necessary building typologies that meets density and population demands. However, these tall buildings are detached from the ground levels severely and out of human proportion; casting harsh shadows over mankind and existing as a built form of social oppression. The need to redefine tall buildings is necessary.
Tesseract proposes an architecture system that allows residents and communities to participate in the design of their own units, programs and facilities within the building through time - to redefine the vertical icon as a social apparatus.
Considering how the target audience are residents; many of whom have not been trained in design - the conventional modes of communication such as floor plans and renderings is insufficient. This particular drawing breaks down housing them into smaller components to communicate the amalgamative process to the public.
