"Italian Propaganda" by Furui Sun
Italian propaganda proposes a new Italian embassy in Moscow, which intends to address the relationship between citizens of the city and its public institution. By inserting a foreign architectural establishment, this proposal is a continuation of Italian traditions and an architectural, cultural, and political insertion of Italian philosophy. The design is divided into the front and the back. The front piece completes a piazza, facilitating public gatherings; whereas the back blends itself into the urban fabric. The new structure presents itself as a ‘camouflage’ and a ‘spectacle’ at the same time. To capture the design as such, the drawing translates and depicts the city of Moscow into an expansive field of abstract geometries. Look for the piazza and you shall find the embassy.
