"Living Curtains" by Trevor Orgill
Living Curtains is a project that aims to make coexisting in small spaces, flexible and habitable. Located in El Segundo Barrio in El Paso Texas, living curtains is a kit of parts curtain system implemented to give the people the ability to create spaces for themselves or their community. Life is never stagnant nor are the needs of a community. The housing project is created to be the heart of the barrio with an open court for the community to gather and hold events. Not only do the curtains create space but make space habitable by controlling shade. The curtain modules can be connected to create boundaries or stacked to create larger spaces of shade. This can also be used by the occupants as a extension of the home to create working spaces outside or combined with neighbors to increase privacy.
