Rig 27


The section shows a transformation of an Urban Land Rig in the outskirts of Aarhus, Denmark.
The drawing predicts a future where production of livelihood and concrete melts together in the suburbs of Aarhus.
The original building is owned by Vital Petfood Group / VPG, which has been producing and supplying edibles for pets since 1981. As many other cities, Aarhus is growing, and the proposal works with the issues that arise when cities expand, and industry and city merge.

Rig 27 proposes a transformation and extension, facilitating a production center with different grow-labs. The project is inspired by the meeting between industry and people / production and culture, and is envisioned to be one out of many land rigs across the world.

The drawing and process has been crafted through hand drawing using tools such as: pencil, colored pencils, tucsch, oil paint, marker.
