"Call of (Civic) Duty" by Katty Cybulski
Call of (Civic) Duty is an incentive-based points system for civic responsibility that promotes and incentivizes interconnectivity among political, social, cultural, and educational environments as a means of avoiding segregation and stagnation among communities. Points are earned by engaging in various educational and cultural programs that are physically and financially accessible to all. Within the system there are mandatory civic tasks to be completed alone or in groups selected at random. City council is selected by lottery each month and it becomes a mandatory civic duty to collaborate on matters within the city. The system produces a society in which all are engaged in the process of shaping themselves and their communities. A higher civic score can grant you certain opportunities, while a lower civic score can remove certain privileges. Opportunities and rewards are no longer granted based on race or wealth, but rather civic score.
