"Sleepless City" by Yifan Lin

Waked up by the morning view outside her capsule window, she climbs down the public stairs that are right underneath the re-opening hostel and says “Hi” to the storage building worker. Undoubtedly, she comes back with a cappuccino and enjoys a view of the empty waterfront.

10 PM. Looking back to the creaky bridge from the Western that gradually lifts up behind her, she sighs with relief for finally meeting the curfew as she runs back across the pedestrian to this female-only hostel.

She decides to join the overnight rooftop party before going up to her capsule bed on her last day in Seattle. She feels lucky for the moment, looking down at the hostel while holding a warm ginger tea and closing her eyes on the wooden chair, immersing in the jazz and city lights that leak out to show that the hostel is sleepless.
